Avis Budget Group is searching for an Accountant II to join our Fleet Accounting Department in Virginia Beach, VA. This challenging position contributes to the company's success by analyzing/reconciling vehicle related general ledger accounts and monthly fleet accounting reports to ensure proper accounting of vehicle assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reconciling work in progress accounts.
What you’ll do:
Directly participate in the monthly close process of multiple Avis Budget Group entities by preparing accruals and adjusting journal entries; performing analysis and research; and resolving issues independently and accurately.Responsible for maintaining supporting schedules to support work in progress reconciliation and prepare monthly related journal entries.Update/maintain vehicle subledger system by performing capital cost adjustments, depreciation updates, funding code changes, and post related journal entries.Assist Supervisor in evaluating existing controls and developing new controls to continue strengthening the accounting environment as it relates to vehicle accounting. Seeks new ways to improve processes to increase accuracy and operate more efficiently.Utilize report scripts and Alteryx software to assist in preparing monthly and ad hoc reports used within the Fleet Accounting Department.Responsible for generating multiple month-end reports used within the Fleet Accounting Department.Execute and review fleet statistics provided to Treasury department quarterly. Perform quarterly subsequent testing of purchases and sales for multiple entities.Numerous Ad hoc requests from various levels of management.What we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related disciplineMinimum of 2-4 years’ experience in accounting/finance functionAbility to modify scripts for pulling accounting data for reports.Knowledge of or interest in learning Alteryx software for streamlining accounting tasks.Knowledge of accounting techniques, reporting, auditing, and other related methodologies.Knowledge of Oracle Financials preferred.Knowledge of report writing software preferred.Requires excellent analytical ability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in teamsSolid PC skills including MS Office (particularly excel) to include vlookups, pivot tables, if-statements and macrosPerks you’ll get:
