Accountant (Entry Level)- Raising Cane's River Center

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the position of Accountant for the Raising Cane’s River Center in Baton Rouge, LA. The accountant administers and manages daily activities of the accounting function at the facility by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Includes the following:

Assists in the development and implementation of facility goals and priorities relating to financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with State and Federal law, and ASM policies and proceduresPerforms and acts as the Lead Finance Manager for Facility Event SettlementsPrepares and oversees the Monthly Accounting Cycle and General Ledger Account ReconciliationsAssists with the preparation of all Financial Reporting, including the following: Assists with preparation of financial statements for the Client and ASM Corporate, and other financial reports, including monthly statements, Annual Budgets and Annual ReportsOversees the maintenance of facility accounting records to ensure the accuracy of financial presentations and forecastsMaintains general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue recognition, operating expense accruals and capital projectsPrepares and analyzes information for financial statements and reportsPrepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenuesDirects internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controlsCoordinates preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting. Works with auditors in verifying financial information/proceduresEvent accounting support such as project set up and show reconciliation support.Perform month-end close task as defined by manager, including GL analysis and account reconciliation.Responsible for reviewing and month end keying of F&B InventoryResponsible for Concession event file review and Financial Statement ReportingResponsible for Catering BEO review and Financial Statement ReportingPrepare and analyze information for monthly sales tax filing and financial statementsUpdate flash reportsPrepare various sales reports and operational reports as required by AGMEnsure that all policies and procedures are being followedAssists as the back-up for Accounts Receivable function as necessaryCompletes Balance Sheet Reconciliations & Bank ReconciliationsThis position is issued a company paid cell phone, which requires you to answer and reply to all phone calls, text messages, and emails in a timely manner (within 24 hours). It is also required that subordinates are given your number and are able to reach you utilizing this cell phone.Abides by all ASM policies in the Human Resources Policies and Procedures Manual, the Business Code of Conduct and the Cash Handling ProceduresOther duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

B. S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university

Skills and Abilities       

Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Job Costing ConceptsA self starter with a strong work ethic that works independently with minimal supervisionDemonstrates the skills and abilities for producing highly accurate financial resultsExcellent math skills; high aptitude for accrual based accounting processes  Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and organizational abilityAbility to work with and maintain highly confidential information is required.Effective supervisory and management skills

Computer Skills   

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have extensive knowledge of accounting software, Microsoft Office applications, time labor management systems and payroll processing software.
