Job Purpose:

The accountant is accountable for the management of all financial processing according to the required controls and accounting principles.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Website management

Complete the reconciliation of revenue between the D365 and SIMs system.Timeously raising issues with the respective departmentsProcessing journals where necessary to correct the variances after proper investigations.

Payroll Journals 

Processing the monthly salary journals. 

Payroll Reconciliation - Salary Clearing Account 

Complete the reconciliation of payroll transactions between the payroll schedules and the net amount paid by group.Timeously raising issues with the respective departments

Payroll reconciliation – lecturer clearing account

Complete the reconciliation of payroll transactions between the payroll schedules and the net amount paid by group.Timeously raising issues with the respective department
Staff Debtors Account 
Complete the reconciliation of staff debtors accounts and ensuring only amounts genuinely recoverable from staff reflect here. Timeously raising issues with the respective departmentsUnallocated Deposits Account 
Actively reconciling this account to ensure that it reflects genuine receipts that are not allocated due to incomplete reference number.Proactively engaging with relevant departments or stakeholders to ensure transactions allocated here are kept to the minimal.
Credit Balance Analysis on Debtors Accounts 
Actively reconciling accounts in credit and proactively resolving the credit balance by engaging with the relevant departments. Checks to include billing is accurate and receipts on account have been correctly allocated.

Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications

Minimum

Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) qualification in Finance or similar. 

Advantageous

Postgraduate/Honours Qualification (NQF Level 8) qualification in Finance or similar.

Experience

Minimum

5 years experience as an Accountant 
Advantageous 
Completed 3-year SAICA articles at a large audit firm
