Permanent Full Time Role Southport, QLD Location Onsite Working Key Client

 

Purpose of Role:

The Accountant will work closely with the Finance Manager as the 2IC, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment within the finance team. This role will act as the lead finance representative supporting BGIS's key client and will be a key member of the leadership team, helping to achieve strategic objectives and performance targets.

In this hands-on role, the Accountant will provide financial support and business insights, including planning, forecasting, and accounting, all while maintaining a controlled and compliant governance framework. The Accountant will play an integral role in implementing best practices to deliver exceptional outcomes for both internal and external stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Finance Manager in a 2IC capacity, ensuring seamless collaboration within the finance team. Provide financial insights, including planning, forecasting, and reporting, for BGIS’s key client. Act as the lead finance representative, ensuring effective financial management and control. Work with the leadership team to achieve performance targets and strategic objectives for the key client. Drive continuous improvement by developing and implementing best practices within the finance function. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, standards, and agreements. Maintain proficiency in financial management tools and systems to deliver accurate and timely results.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

Proven experience in Accounting/Finance Management, with a strong attention to detail and ownership of work. Solid understanding of relevant legislation, policies, standards, and agreements. Experience in financial accounting and reporting. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes. Advanced proficiency in Excel and Word. Strong business acumen with experience in business planning and high-level financial management. Proven capability in working within environments using QA, WH&S, and environmental systems.

Desirable Knowledge & Experience:

Experience in facilities management or corporate real estate. Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Experience in integrated services and property models (Property Management, Facilities Management, Project Management, and Financial Management Services).

Qualifications:

Tertiary qualifications in business, accounting, or finance. CPA or CA qualifications (or in progress). Experience in delivering property portfolio services.
