Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to perform general ledger accounting and other related duties. The successful candidate will prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements, maintain the general ledger, and manage accounts receivable collections. This role also involves coding invoices, setting up new accounts, and reconciling various accounts. Additionally, the Accountant will coordinate with software vendors to maintain accounting software systems, file tax forms, and provide assistance to outside auditors during the annual audit.
ResponsibilitiesPerform general ledger accounting and other related duties.Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.Maintain the general ledger.Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books.Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks.Reconcile cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts.Manage accounts receivable collections.Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.Provide outside auditors with assistance and gather necessary account information and documents for the annual audit.File tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.Coordinate with software vendors to maintain accounting software systems and recommend updates.Manage the purchasing and invoicing system.Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.Perform other related duties as assigned.Process commissions every month.Essential SkillsGeneral knowledge of GAAP reporting requirements for Revenues and Costs of Services and Goods.Advanced analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Advanced spreadsheet and modeling skills.Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to break down problems into meaningful parts and come to rational and well-thought-out conclusions.Demonstrated strong project management skills.Solid networking and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail and accuracy.Interest in process improvement.Willingness to adapt quickly to changes in direction.Internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting is required.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $40.00
