Purpose Statement
Accountant supports the Finance function to provide timely and accurate reporting in accordance with both local regulations (legal entity reporting) and US GAAP requirements. This position also ensures all responsibilities are carried out in accordance with local regulations and Corporate Policies and Procedures.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting:
Participates on financial and accounting processes to ensure compliance with Corporate and local policies, statutory requirements and GAAP and ethical standards with integrity Supports the Local Finance Team with independent auditors and audit-related accounting matters Manages Procure to Pay process (employee/vendor payables) and administration of accounts payable, accruals. Actively guides on the policy, solves system issues and improves the process. Participates with the month, quarterly and annual financial close process and related reports to ensure timely close and financial reports preparation and reconciliation. Provide support with special projects assigned and other ad hoc requests
Taxation:
Payment and calculation of all local taxes such as VAT and corporate tax. Maintains of all substantiation records for tax.
Controls:
Ensures all activities comply with relevant Acts, legal demands, ethical standards and the internal Quality Management System. Reviews and updates Standard Operating Procedures.
Treasury:
Handles bank administration, funds transfers and foreign exchange dealings under the direction of Corporate Treasury and Head of Finance. Oversees operational cash management and cash flow forecasting
Quality:
Drives compliance in all finance related matters (SOX, Statutory, monthly Closing). Participates in implementing Quality requirements in all aspects of the Finance Process.
Project Management: Lead system implementation project as a country representative
Basic Requirements
5 to 8 years of experience in related finance and accounting field Strong communication and interpersonal skills (English and Korean) Capability to build strong working relationship with employees, shared service business partners, internal customers, external vendors and auditors
Preferable Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree / Professional Degree in Accounting and/or Finance Preference for candidates with SAP knowledge Potential to work in fast-paced environment and have flexibility to handle various job assignments Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
