The Life Sciences Group of Thermo Fisher Scientific currently has a vacancy for a TSS to lead the AgriBusiness Commercial Strategy in South Africa - EN Africa.

Position: AgriBusiness TSS South Africa -EN Africa

Territory: South Africa – EN Africa  

Location: Johannesburg/ remote  

Language requirements: Proficient English & Local Language.

Purpose:

Drive the Thermo Fisher AgriBusiness Commercial Strategy in South Africa and Full English Speaking Countries in Africa. Be responsible to achieve individual resulting in a best performing team to support the Sales and Support AgriBusiness EMEA team to achieve the financial targets.

Major responsibilities

Responsible for direct sales of the AgriBusiness portfolio in Animal Health and Genotyping application in the assigned area.Achieve sales targets, both quarterly and annually.Develop and implement a strategy that leads to increased customer value creation and market share gain specific to each geography.Maintains and develops customer relationships at senior levelGathers, analyses and delivers information from the regions to allow the company to develop strategies and products appropriate to the market.Identifies, nurtures and focuses on key accounts and key opinion leaders to build mid long term growing strategy.Identifies competitor activities and develops tactical activitiesDistributor ManagementManage and build with high accuracy Funnel and Forecast process according to company standard

Skills/Experience Required

SALES ACCUMEN

Develops and implements effective regional sales strategies in collaboration with regional teams with ability to work in matrix with local Director's team.Exhibits bias towards accomplishing sales results via defined processes and sales disciplineForecast accuracy (revenue and demand)Handles priorities effectively according with direct line manager guidelines.Implements operating mechanisms adopting PPI to supervise progress on different sales opportunitiesdisplays understanding of success metrics and how metrics are measured for one’s function and/or Business unitParticipate to EMEA Agribusiness Sales Division success through Cross activities with other colleagues in other territories.

Business knowledge

Willingness and ability to travel extensively and work in a wide variety of customer environments (50-60% travel time).able to work inside matrix organizationstrong communication and presentation skillsmanages internal and external relationships wellDrives process compliance and improvements within operational processes in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, business requirements and applicable government regulationsManages diversity effectively and equally; adoptable to different cultures

Domain knowledge of agribusiness

Understands production animal diagnostics workflows and animal genotyping products, applications and instruments.Knowledge of Molecular Biology Applications: Sample Prep, qPCR, NGS, Microarray.Provides feedback to product management on customer needs for new product development.Builds value propositions that represent Thermo Fisher Scientific product portfolio

Ability to work in matrix

Effectively networks inside organization and seeks for consensusaligns regional and business strategies with line manager and Africa Directorcollaborates with local team and builds internal supportlooks for synergies across businessesencourages team spirit across GSX organizationIs able to deal with sophisticated logistics detailscapable to adopt and act quickly

Education/Qualifications

Will hold an academic degree (BSc) or has equivalent level of experience in Veterinary Diagnostics & Agrigenomics market.Broad experience (min  3 years) in Specialist Sales function, with proven track record in veterinary diagnostics or closely related field.Bench experience in the field of Veterinary Diagnostics & Agrigenomics
