UW faculty and staff also enjoy outstanding benefits, professional growth opportunities and unique resources in an environment noted for diversity, intellectual excitement, artistic pursuits, and natural beauty. **The University Business Services has an outstanding opportunity for an Account Manager to join their team.** The Account Manager for Client Services will manage all aspects of communications projects for University clients, including developing marketing strategy and production plan; sourcing talent for graphic design, web development, photography, and writing/editing; managing production of projects and coordinating distribution. This position will represent the client in all interactions with Creative Communications and other service providers. This position will plan and implement concurrent and frequently competing project production schedules and priorities. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Communications Planning + Participate in creating marketing strategy with academic and administrative unit staff members to develop communications objectives, define target audiences, and track budgetary milestones. Using a comprehensive understanding of graphic communications, consult with clients about use of electronic media, websites, social media, direct mail and print material, licensed products, and emerging marketing methods. + Work with key staff members of other departments to create marketing identity programs, develop graphic standards for these programs, and ensure compliance of all projects with these standards. + Develop comprehensive project specifications and solicit, review, and approve estimates from multiple vendors and internal resources. Assess estimates against long- and short-term budgetary plans. + Develop detailed project proposals to support client funding and planning efforts.Client Relationship Management + Manage successful client relationships with frequent, proactive communication; by serving in advisory role throughout the life of the project, and providing expertise on a wide range of communication products. + Perform outreach to potential and existing clients to educate them about products and services that Creative Communications offers that help them with their departmental needs. + Act as client liaison with internal and external graphic design resources, web developers, photographers, writers, editors, print vendors, and Creative Communications in-plant. + Represent Creative Communications at departmental meetings.Project Coordination + Recruit and coordinate project teams, which may include clients; graphic designers, consultants through the Creative Communications’ Creative Consultants Network – designers, photographers, illustrators, writers, and editors; web developers; and production representatives. Provide quality control and assurance during production cycle of each project. + Evaluate the effectiveness and quality of completed projects. Plan for changes to be incorporated into future projects. + Manage directly or delegate coordination of projects through the creative process of design and the production processes of desktop publishing/electronic prepress, printing or web development, and distribution. + Negotiate and manage vendor involvement through project life cycles. Authorize modifications within budget and schedule parameters. Using problem-solving skills, resolve design and production issues. + Coordinate negotiation and award of long-term project contracts for strategic publications and program. + Participate in marketing strategy and outreach efforts with campus clients. + Participate in marketing strategy and outreach efforts with campus clients. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS** + Bachelor's Degree in journalism, public relations, marketing, communications, English, or a related field or equivalent experience. + Minimum two years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: marketing, advertising, or communications planning, client service experience in a complex institutional environment, publications design, website production, copy writing, preparing and distributing direct marketing materials. **Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.** **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS** + An understanding of communications planning, graphic design, web and electronic media production, desktop publishing, and print production techniques; experience preparing materials for printing. + The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide variety of individuals. + Thorough understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook Express, and PowerPoint. **DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS** + Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines. + Participated in a work environment using LEAN or a similar structured process improvement system. + Experience working with an industry MIS system, such as EFI Pace. **Application Process:** The application process may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
