Account Manager

Job Summary

The Account Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to small business clients, providing consultative guidance and best in class service. The role will require working directly with our specialty practices as well as producers in a high-volume environment. The role will serve as a mentor to Assistant Account Managers.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

Building and maintaining constructive and effective relationships with internal and external customers by meeting and exceeding expectationsLeveraging commercial P&C insurance knowledge and expertise to actively service existing accounts and develop new business opportunities for a high volume, fast-paced book of business, consisting of small, commercial clientsFostering an environment of personal accountability by managing appropriate system records of service, marketing, and policy communications with clients and carriers in AMS accordinglyParticipating in the retention of renewal business. Interacting with producers to prepare specifications, applications, underwriting data and related information in the marketing of insurance productsEnsuring the client has continuous and proper coverage and advising the client of any recommendations within a mutually established timelineReviewing current policies and providing recommendations regarding placement options. Utilizing department workflows and a network of industry contacts to determine appropriate coverage and premiumsSupporting the implementation of new lines of coverage by setting up accounts, collecting needed documentation, and reviewing plan details with Client and CarrierExecuting coverage analysis as needed as well as providing the client with accurate quotation for any additional coverage’s

Requirements and Qualifications:

3 - 5 years’ experience of Commercial Lines client management experienceValid P&C brokers’ licenseCollege degree preferredIndustry specific designations preferred- CISR, ARM or similarProficient in insurance agency management systems, AMS 360 and Work Smart preferredExtensive knowledge of Commercial Lines underwriting, coverage, rate analysis/proceduresAbility to clearly articulate these products/plans to clients and underwriters, including compliance and legislative informationUnderstanding of marketplace trends and best practices to best meet client needs
