Program Manager

Boyd Corporation is looking for a driven and experienced Program Manager, supporting our rapidly growing Aerospace and Defense division in Woburn, MA.  This individual will report to the Director of Program Management and will work directly on-site with the Woburn team.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of overall experience in either a design or manufacturing engineering environment with 5 years of direct program management. This role requires exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills, and the ability to influence cross functional teams without direct reporting responsibility.  Experience in metal manufacturing such as CNC machining, vacuum and/or dip brazing, welding, various coating and painting processes are preferred.

Scope of Position:

Responsible to effectively manage the on-time launch of new products while achieving the product cost and scope targets. Ability to apply program management methodologies and strategies to reduce potential project risk throughout the duration of the project lifecycle. Time Management: Must be able to utilize time effectively. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks to product timing, cost and product scope. Team environment, possess strong leadership and organizational skills, and demonstrate ability to take ownership of assignments. Effectively manages multiple new product development projects simultaneously at various stages in the development process. Collaborate with all internal stakeholders to support cost and schedule development for new product development products. Coordinates engineering efforts for the design of new products and assures manufacturability within cost targets. Conducts frequent team meetings via conference call, video, or live as needed to maintain team involvement, project control and commitments while achieving critical milestones. Facilitates the transfer of projects from design and development into production. Effectively communicate to the management team current project status (cost, schedule and scope). Primary point of contact and communicator to the customer on project status, risks and issues.

 

Requirements:

Bachelors of Science degree from an accredited institution. 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, engineering or manufacturing 5 years of direct program or project management responsibility MS Office Suite, particularly experienced in MS Project and Excel Able to read and understand engineering drawings General understanding of the Aerospace and Defense quality standards (AS9100, NADCAP) and regulatory (FAR/DFAR) environment U.S. Citizen or resident status
