Role Summary:

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with Electrical Wholesalers and Independent Distributors across the UK. This role focuses on driving revenue growth, improving account penetration, and ensuring a high standard of service delivery to strategic partners in the distribution channel, whilst also working cohesively with the SPIT Contractor BDM team to drive sales via the end user through our key distribution partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Growth & Strategy

Manage and grow the portfolio of Electrical Wholesalers and Independent Distributors – delivering on sales targets in line with LRP.Build strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers high, deep and wide within the organisations.Develop and execute commercial strategies that align with ITW SPIT’s sales and marketing goals including the creation and driving of tailored account plans to increase education, engagement, market share and customer loyalty in line with AP and LRP commitments.Identify and act on new business opportunities within existing accounts and new Lever 2 opportunities.

Collaboration & Coordination

Work closely with internal teams including Marketing, Customer Service, Technical Support to ensure aligned execution of initiatives and strategy.Work side by side with the contractor BDM team, supporting and driving aspects of the lead generation strategy.Provide feedback from the field to contribute to product development and marketing initiatives.

Forecasting & Reporting

Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline data, and market intelligence.Deliver monthly performance reports and account reviews.Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform strategy.

Training & Support

Provide product training and commercial support to distributor sales teams.Organize joint customer visits and promotional events to drive sell-out activities.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

Proven experience in a Key Account Management, Sales, or Business Development role.Commercially astute including negotiation and influence with a track record of achieving sales targets and growing accounts.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel extensively within the territory.

Desirable:

Strong knowledge of electrical wholesaler and independent distribution networks.Knowledge of fixings, fasteners, or power tools.Experience working with or within a manufacturer supplying to distribution partners.Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
