Summary of Job Duties:This position is located in Helena AR.

This position works under supervision to function as a patient resource for all scheduling and billing questions and to facilitate comprehensive patient data collections, timely and accurate billing, prompt collections of payment for services rendered, facilitates scheduling coordination and conflicts. This position must be able to perform all duties of the Access Coordinator I & II level and performs other duties to support the patient care activities as needed.
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:High School, GED or formal educational equivalent.Three (3) years experience in registration, billing, or scheduling in a healthcare environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Good communication skills.Computer/basic keyboard skills.Telephone etiquette skills.General knowledge of office machines including printers and scanners.Excellent customer service skills.Knowledge of basic medical terminology is required. 

Preferred Qualifications:CHAA Certification preferred

Key Responsibilities:Customer Service: Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed. Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary. Deals with conflicts in a positive and professional manner using careful listening and negotiation skills to resolve disagreements.  Consistently utilizes communication devices and keeps accurate records as required. Demonstrates effective service recovery skills; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines. Assists internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service Insurance Verification/Benefit Explanation/ Referrals: Conducts insurance verification and benefits explanation by running eligibility on patients; requests outside records and gathers outside medical records from referrals and files patient charts as needed.  Enters benefit and authorization information.   Conducts authorizations and pre-certifications; tracks pre-authorizations and assures referrals from providers are addressed within 48 hours, schedules referrals to multiple specialists and hospitals.  Obtain correspondence from referral visits for patients, ensures correspondence and consolation notes are received and communicates referral statuses and reports with clinic medical staff.  Provides accurate and timely referrals in an effort to improve continuity of care for patients.    Office Duties/Supply: Schedules, reschedules, and coordinates appointments using the hospital systems by performing visit notifications of patients. Conducts pre-registration as needed, inputs and/or updates accurate patient information.  Process walk-ins, create new patient charts, access systems for orders as appropriate.  Inventory, order, and stock supplies, clean and maintain equipment, Pick-up and deliver mail to mailroom, ensure the waiting room is clean, stocked with educational information. Issues school/work excuses, sends out no show letters, takes patient photos. Responsible for blocking schedules as appropriate, cancel and reschedule appointments as requested.Reports (Medical & Maintenance): This position may also maintain initial plan of care (signatures, etc.) and is responsible for recording daily and monthly statistics and communication or any medical records issues.  This position will also be responsible for various maintenance reports i.e. bogies, work denials, open encounter, laser arc reports, cancelled clinic reports, etc.POS Collections: Collects and post payments in and issues receipts. Responsible for reconciliation/management change fund. Responsible for reconciliation of daily deposit & batch dollars, and must complete deposit agreement.  Counsels patients on any and all related financial information i.e. hospital discounts and reviewing MC screening.May perform other duties as assigned.
