Job Overview:

 

To work within the Cargo Research Team, leading efforts to develop, test, verify and validate linear accelerators and associated sub-systems in the X-Ray Imaging Laboratory. You will be responsible for operation, data capture and data analysis of hardware. Additional responsibilities include supporting the wider business unit efforts in product quality assurance, root cause analysis of failed hardware, training, demonstrations, and sales and marketing support.

Responsibilities

Develop, validate, and test linear accelerators including their components and subsystems.

Provide technical guidance to other Cargo Research Team staff and the wider business unit.Keep up to date records of system and sub-system testing and results using appropriate tracking software package and support release of documentation into Agile.Support, as and when required, wider company efforts in production, engineering and with commissioning to help with FATs and customer demonstrations. Qualifications Experience working with electron linear accelerators is required.Experience using test equipment including vector network analysers and oscilloscopes is desired.Ability to work collaboratively with others in a multidisciplinary team.Experience working in a fast-paced product development environment is desired.

PhD in Particle Accelerator Physics or RF Engineering or equivalent experience is required.

Knowledge of high-power RF systems, high voltage power supplies and/or beam dynamics is desired.

Understanding of safe systems of work with particle accelerators and their sub-systems is required
