Your role and responsibilitiesYou will be part of a 12-month rotation program. Under the Discovery program, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with different leaders and teams and contribute to the company’s strategic initiatives for ABB’s Business in the Mining and Mineral Processing segment.Process Industries division delivers complete electrification and automation solutions, industry-specific products and lifecycle services across industries. Engineering and delivering automation solutions from device to monitoring and control make our customers get more out of their investment; digitalization solutions including collaborative operations and augmented reality help improve plant and enterprise productivity, reduce maintenance and energy costs. Our engineering, project management, services and solutions portfolio covers a wide range of industries - Mining, Pulp & Paper, Metals, Aluminum and Cement, Data centers and Food and Beverage.You will attend the June orientation with all other participants in the Discovery program. This comprehensive program is designed to develop young talent, enabling personal and professional growth and networking. A designated program manager will accompany you throughout your journey. •\tStart your career in the mining industry – Contribute to the productive energy transition in the mining industry with ABB’s innovative solutions.•\tGain practical experience in engineering activities of large industrial electrification projects involving High voltage substation, prefabricated E-houses, MV & LV switchgears, Variable frequency Drives, Control, Protection, Instrumentation, MCC transformers, motor generators, Auxiliary Systems and HVAC Systems.•\tContribute to continuous improvement - support the implementation, delivery, and continuous improvement of ABB’s mining solutions and services.•\tDesign and program automated systems such as PCS and PLCs. •\tGrow with us through formal training programs, regular performance feedback, and professional mentoring.
Qualifications for the roleCompleted Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering before the start of the program, master’s degree is an asset.Maximum two years of professional work experience by the start date within the automation and electrical application process industries.Knowledge of OS virtualization based on VMware or Citrix, MS; OPC, OPC/UA, ODBC, Python.Knowledge of software such as ETAP, SKM, ACAD, SmartPlant or Microstation is an asset.Availability to travel within Canada.French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.Must already have a work authorization that would permit you to work for ABB in Canada and must be available to travel to any of our Canadian sites.
