This role helps to implement new 340B initiatives within Billings Clinic. In addition, this role supports Billings Clinic commitment to ensuring 340B compliance. A successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail and willingness to learn Essential Job Functions • Serve as purchasing agent for 340B program, including ordering, receiving, and distribution of 340B pharmaceutical agents. • Receives, unpacks and verifies medications received against invoice to ensure medication needs are met and charges are accurate. • Provides for the dispensing, packaging, and/or shipping/transportation of medications. • Labels, organizes and maintains the drug inventory in a clean and orderly fashion. Maintains the purchasing/shipping area in a neat and orderly condition. • Supports in-house, regional and contract pharmacy service lines. • Tracks usage and purchasing, utilizes virtual inventory software, and uploads data related to 340b medication procurement program. This position requires the use of many different software programs • Coordination, preparation, and posting of monthly 340b transactions. • Responsible to answer any questions during annual audits for work performed during the year. • Assist in solving problems that arise during any annual audit of the 340b program. • Assist in preparing daily clinic department and hospital medication orders. • Assist in medication order distribution for Billings Clinic. • Assures adequate supplies of pharmaceuticals or a realistic alternative is available when confronted with manufacturer backorders/outs. Communicates these situations when appropriate. • Assist in management of shortages and allocations. Work with pharmacy team on suitable alternatives as needed. • Resolves discrepancies with vendors. Assures contract compliance within purchasing of drugs. • Ensures accurate charge and revenue capture • Utilizes performance improvement principles to assess and improve quality. • Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory system/departmental requirements. • Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency safety standards relevant to job performance. • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization. • Provides assistance to and serves as the backup to the pharmacy purchasing team, when appropriate. Minimum Qua lifications Education • High School or GED High school diploma or equivalent • Other Two (2) years post high school education, preferred Experience • Prior experience working in a pharmacy setting (either inpatient or outpatient) preferred • Prior knowledge and/or experience working with purchasing or inventory management, preferred Certifications and Licenses • Certified Pharmacy Technician At hire Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
