Requirements:
Grade 12 Certificate (NQF 4). National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (NQF 6). 3-Phase Wireman’s License. QCTO Red Seal Electrician Certification. AREP/SAPVIA PV Green Card Certification (Preferred). Up to 3 years of solar installation experience (both roof and ground mount systems). Experience with micro and string inverters and setting up monitoring systems. Computer literacy. Knowledge of reading lithium batteries. Responsibilities:
Technical Support and Installation Control
Liaise with the O & M Manager: Industrial, to review project plans and drawings. Ensure that the project is built according to design specifications and is signed off on the Certificate of Compliance (COC) and other relevant by-laws. Set up solar monitoring systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and operational issues. Assemble the solar array racking, properly seal all roof penetrations, and install all relevant equipment. Perform installations that include residential, light commercial grid-tied photovoltaic systems, as well as large-scale industrial and Independent Power Producer (IPP) scoped project installations. Report to, coordinate, and collaborate with the Installation Supervisor and Engineering Department to install all photovoltaic system components. Document and record fault findings and outcomes. Maintain a warranty and repair register. Ensure compliance with applicable specifications and requirements. Ensure outbound and inbound logistical process efficiency for prompt repairs and returns. Comply with manuals and instructions of process requirements. Achieve customer satisfaction and receive positive feedback on services rendered. Compliance and Certification
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures to prevent wasteful, and irregular expenditure. Maintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control, with an emphasis on safety. Ensure that all installations meet industry standards and codes, including SANS and the original design specifications. Report risks to the manager. Ensure the availability of documentation and records. Monitor costs and expenditures to minimize waste. Customer Service
Communicate with customers in a professional manner. Cost Control
Ensure that the project and COC-required alterations remain within budget. Work with crew members to complete projects within established timeframes, policies, and procedures.
