Hogarth is looking for a 2D/3D Animator for our pool of freelancers or future opportunities What does a 2D/3D Animator do at Hogarth?A 2D/3D Animator is a versatile artist who brings still images and ideas to life through movement and storytelling. They are proficient in both traditional 2D animation techniques and modern 3D animation software, allowing them to create a wide range of animated content for various media. A 2D/3D Animator's work can include character animation, special effects, motion graphics, and animated explainer videos, among other things. They possess a strong understanding of animation principles, storytelling, and visual communication, and they collaborate closely with other creatives to ensure their animations effectively convey the intended message and captivate the audience. They are skilled in using various animation software and tools, and they are adept at working on both independent projects and as part of a larger team.
Duties: Create high-quality 2D and 3D animations for a variety of projects, from concept to completion. Collaborate with other animators, designers, and team members to ensure a cohesive and consistent style. Develop storyboards and animatics to visualize animation sequences. Rig and animate characters and objects in 3D software. Create traditional 2D animation, including character animation, special effects, and motion graphics. Implement feedback and revisions effectively. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and software advancements. Manage time effectively and meet project deadlines. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Animation or Computer Animation is strongly preferred. Candidates with degrees in related fields Composting skill: pulling assets from various sources and making a scene that looks seamless. Strong understanding of different video (mp4, mov, html5, etc.) and 3d formats (obj, fbx, gltf). Proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator since we often need to prepare the 2d assets to be animation ready. such as Motion Design, Film/Video Production, or equivalent experience combined with a compelling portfolio showcasing strong 2D and 3D animation skills will also be considered. English Proficiency: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required for effective collaboration with international teams and clients. Strong portfolio showcasing a range of 2D and 3D animation skills. Proficiency in 2D animation software such as Adobe Animate, Toon Boom Harmony, After Effects, or similar. Proficiency in 3D animation software such as Autodesk Maya, Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar. Solid understanding of animation principles, including timing, spacing, weight, and acting. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to take direction and adapt to different styles.
