All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regards to, among other things, race, religion, color, national origin, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, status as a protected veteran, or status as a qualified individual with disability._ **_Primary Location:_** _United States (US) – IA - Ames_ **_Function:Technology:_** _Technology_ **_Title:_** _Senior Software Engineer -_ _2025024_ **_Onsite/Remote:_** _Onsite Position_ **Your Responsibilities** As a **Senior Software Engineer** for John Deere in Ames, IA, you will: + Develop, code, configure, and test programs and systems; + Evaluate and implement solutions to optimize cost, quality, and performance of software applications; + Analyze assignment and determine software specifications that must be filled to achieve objectives; + Execute necessary documentation; + Collaborate with other relevant stakeholders and team members to ensure that features meet business needs; + Follow industry-standard agile software development methodology for development and documentation; + Mentor junior software engineers on the team; + Develop software solutions for John Deere’s Cloud Platforms; + Contribute to various phases of the Software Development Life Cycle: planning, analysis, estimation, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance; + Develop reusable patterns to enhance team velocity and promote best practices; + Refine Coding standards, workflows, and tool standards; + Provide inputs into the product development strategy and roadmap; + Develop comprehensive software designs, contribute to the system architecture to enable secure, scalable, and maintainable Software; + Resolve technical challenges in modernizing, optimizing software applications and their hosting environments; + Considered a subject matter expert within the team on tools and technology in use; + Provide technical guidance and coaching to other team members. **What Skills You Need** + 5 years of experience in software development including Full-stack web Application development (Backend and Frontend web application development), and end-to-end solution implementation + 4 years of experience in leveraging DevSecOps such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, secure coding principles and practices to develop secure, scalable, and effective applications + 2 years of experience in working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure platform technologies, and infrastructure-as-code to provision highly scalable and optimized computing environments + 3 years of experience with Application containerization, container orchestration, automation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis + 3 years of experience in software development experience to design and implement scalable and high-performance systems + 3 years of experience with Agile development processes including Test Driven Development and Test Automation **Education/Experience** + Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field plus 5 years related experience. **What You'll Get** At John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go while working in an inclusive team environment.
