Applied Materials’ Fluid Components Center of Excellence ( FC COE) is a centralized unit with end-to-end responsibilities with respect to chemical delivery components, focusing on new products/solution development and leading the community of practice. These components are critical to the efficient operation of our tools across all segments. FC COE is searching for an intern to join our team in summer 2024. The position will entail the following:
Assist with lab test and evaluation of fluid components and subsystems
Operate and modify custom-built test stands including automation of the data acquisition and control systems
Work directly with senior engineers to gather data, analyze data, graphically present the data, and produce written reports and oral presentations
Support team members through procurement, shipping, and inventory functions
Requirements
Student must be pursuing a PhD or Doctorate degree program in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university, with an expected graduation date between December, 2025 and June, 2026
Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
Mechanical engineering experience especially related to fluid dynamics and thermodynamics preferred
Knowledge of automating laboratory equipment, and MATLAB/Ni LabVIEW programming experience preferred
Quick learner, high degree of flexibility
Compensation
$32 - $41 per hour
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including education level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
