2025 Summer Associate, Affordable Acquisitions
Responsibilities Program Overview: Our formal 10-week internship programs provide students with the opportunity to work on critical projects integral to our team's success. Interns work alongside some of the best minds in Real Estate, in an innovative, fast-paced environment and are expected to approach tasks and projects with dedication and initiative. Our internship program connects students with industry leaders and provides foundational real estate knowledge through a speaker series and networking events. We focus on accelerating growth with hands-on professional development and training. Recognizing that real estate thrives on relationships, we create an engaging experience with volunteering, portfolio tours, and intern led activities, all designed to build collaboration and a connected cohort. Responsibilities: The Summer Associate will support the team and be involved in all aspects of affordable real estate acquisitions and development including financial analysis and modeling, site acquisition, due diligence, legal document review and negotiation, and community and resident engagement. The Associate will prepare detailed financial analyses and models including those for transaction underwriting and will provide key takeaways to business units. Perform financial underwriting analysis and due diligence for new affordable acquisition investment opportunities Prepare tax exempt bond and low-income housing tax credit applications for live deals Track rehab progress on ongoing process Conduct site visits and assist with asset management of existing portfolio Monitor construction costs, budgeting, and the timeline of deliverables Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $70/hr Qualifications To be considered for the 2025 Summer Associate program, applicants must meet the following criteria: First year MBA or Master’s student with a target graduation date of Spring 2026 Actively pursuing a graduate degree in Business Administration, Real Estate Development or Public Policy A strong passion for affordable housing 2+ years of relevant experience in corporate finance or real estate analysis Demonstrates clear and concise communication skills, both verbally and in writing Excellent quantitative and analytical skills; with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Exhibits a strong understanding of technical skills and job specific knowledge Self-starter with a proactive approach to tackling tasks and challenges Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to new challenges in a dynamic work environment Related is not offering visa sponsorship for this position.
