Senior Retail Vendor Manager (VM): Amazon is looking for a passionate candidate with the proven ability to build strategic, long term business relationships within the Amazon Stores organization. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring and reacting to industry trends, within a determined Amazon Stores retail business, and own the top and bottom lines of the P&L. They will develop selection and categories, deliver innovative growth solutions and work with internal teams to deliver the best customer experience. The candidate must be a thoughtful, high-energy, self-starter, with strong business acumen, acute analytical skills, and the ability to work with teams internally and externally. The candidate must thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment. The candidate will work with vendors of all sizes – and must have the leadership presence and communication skills to represent Amazon at all levels of these organizations. They will need to be able to work across multiple internal teams, at high levels of leadership, to address customer experience issues within the category. The candidate must also possess strong analytical acumen and be comfortable drawing metric-based conclusions while applying a customer centered lens to decisions.
Key job responsibilities
-Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets by executing annual and ongoing vendor negotiations.
-Have an understanding of customer needs and use that knowledge to advocate for, and drive delivery of, improvements that provide Amazon customers with an unparalleled shopping experience.
-Build vendor/brand relationships - be the primary point of contact for vendor selection on-boarding, escalations, and negotiations.
-Have a thorough understanding of the industry, business trends, events, and continually monitor both industry and competitor developments.
-Maximize Amazon’s business and financial profitability through selection optimization and expansion opportunities.
-Coordinate across cross-functional teams and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, all while meeting tight deadlines.
About the team
- Most roles for this position will be located at Amazon’s company headquarters in Seattle, WA or Arlington, VA. Successful applicants will be expected to relocate to their team location upon starting at Amazon.
- Role and team placement are based on business needs and as Amazon continues to grow and flex, we are looking for candidates who want to own, build and impact the customer experience rather than are tied to a specific role or team.
- Internship start dates will be between May-June 2025 for a 12-week, consecutive internship.
