2025 Early Career Program, Sales Trainee

Guardian is seeking a Sales Trainee, who will participate in the Group Sales Early Career Development Program, which includes structured training and mentorship to become a Sales Representative in Group Benefits.

The program provides:

Throughout the program, this individual will effectively learn Guardian’s business, culture, product and service offerings, and processes.

The Sales Trainee will be trained to become a Sales Representative, which is responsible for selling employee benefit products and services to corporations.  You will accomplish this by developing a network of benefit brokerage relationships. The Sales Representative becomes a resource of choice for the broker and their clients.

Upon hire, the Sales Trainee will report into the Sales Program Manager. Following the Program, the role will report to a Regional Sales Leader.

Travel:

Up to 25% travel in the first year within the USMust be open to mobility and relocation to continue advancing your sales careerThis position may call for you to come on campus or attend an in-person Guardian sponsored event

You are:

You will:

Complete the Early Career Training Program which includes course work, academies and field-based curriculumDevelop a clear understanding of our business and our diverse Group productsGain a thorough understanding of our relationships within the brokerage community and the clients we serviceObtain required industry licensing (paid by Guardian), and maintain license through completing Continuing Education requirementsImprove communication and presentation skills needed to present and facilitate meetings in-person and virtually with external brokers, clients, and internal partnersDevelop consultative selling skills to help you achieve or exceed personal sales production expectations established by managementDemonstrate a strong understanding of Guardian’s mission and Group Sales’ strategic visionBecome proficient in Guardian’s technology offerings and be able to explain them to brokers and clients to help them solve a variety of problemsDevelop and maintain multiple benefits brokerage relationships within assigned territoryParticipate in the implementation of new cases and enrollment meetingsHave the opportunity to work and learn from supportive leaders, mentors and team members across the organization who will help coach you as you develop your professional careerLearn about Guardian’s purpose, values, how we work, and our suite of product and service offeringsBuild a network of colleagues and have a sense of community with other interns and other parts of the businessThink broadly and ask questions about data, facts and other informationBe a self-starter – someone who enjoys “rolling up their sleeves and getting things done”, has high energy, strong work ethic, displays the ability to work independently, and is creative

Eligibility:

Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization. F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs, or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered.  H1-B and green card sponsorship are not available for this position.

Salary Range:
$35,000

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
