SUMMARY OF DUTIES
The Manager, Operational Systems is a strategic professional responsible for leading a dynamic team dedicated to troubleshooting, optimizing, maintaining, and implementing operational systems, while fostering innovation and driving process improvements. This role drives innovation, promotes process improvements, and ensures systems align with company standards to enhance efficiency. Collaborating with Business Intelligence Systems, International Operational Systems, and Developer teams, this position introduces new systems, processes, and perspectives while fostering a culture of continuous improvement to support organizational and business objectives.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED
Departmental Collaboration:
Partner to assess and address system needs with key departments, including but not limited to: Accounting/FinanceEngineeringHuman ResourcesLegalLogisticsMarketingRegulatoryR&DSales/Customer ServiceSupply Chain/Planning/PurchasingWIP/InventoryQuality/Document ControlSystem Troubleshooting, Implementation, Maintenance, and Improvement:
Lead troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of new and existing systems, ensuring adherence to company standards and methodologies.Oversee internal department training programs for business systems such as business ERP’s, web applications, and third-party integrated business systems.Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all systems and internal department training.Identify and implement opportunities for system and process enhancements.Evaluate and encourage new technologies to drive efficiency and scalability while continually reducing technical debt.Project Management:
Provide strategic project management for system improvements and new implementations, ensuring timely and successful delivery.Team Leadership:
Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing team.Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the department.Stakeholder Engagement:
Consistently deliver exceptional experiences to colleagues, end-users, and other stakeholders through effective communication and support.Standardization & Compliance:
Ensure uniform processes, testing, and methodologies are applied across all company sites.Business Intelligence Support:
Offer secondary support for BI tools such as Microsoft Power Apps, DOMO, Microsoft Power BI, AI, and others.Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.Demonstrated experience in managing cross-functional teams and leading through change to drive success and improvements.At least 5 years of experience in system design, implementation, and maintenance, with 4 years in a supervisory role with direct reports.Proficient in SQL and advanced computing skills, including spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.Experience with business ticketing systems such as Jira, servicenow, and others.Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems and drive system improvements.Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.Hold or qualify for a valid passport and be able to travel domestically and internationally without restrictions if needed.Preferred Competencies
Expertise in operational system analysis and troubleshooting.Strong understanding of report design and analysis.Skilled in designing and delivering effective training programs.Experience in evaluating and implementing new technologies.Proven track record in project management and process standardization.Ability to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.Physical/Environmental Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.Comfortable with activities such as writing, sitting, standing, bending, and visual focus.
