Qualitest is looking for experienced SCADA Data Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Chicago, IL. This position involves working onsite 2 days a week, and the contract is expected to run through the end of 2026. The ideal candidate will possess the technical expertise to maintain and support SCADA systems, focusing on distribution automation (DA) systems and related equipment, ensuring smooth operation and efficient communication between critical systems.

Position Summary:
The SCADA Data Maintenance Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining SCADA systems, products, and processes for the 12/34 kV distribution automation (DA) system and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain expertise in SCADA/ADMS-related real-time, historian, and relational databases to support SCADA systems and ensure accurate data management. Design, implement, test, commission, and maintain 12/34 kV DA devices within the SCADA environment, ensuring effective data exchange across multiple devices. Conduct engineering duties to enhance system reliability, including testing and upgrading DA equipment to ensure seamless data exchange between Field Interface Gateways (FIGs) and ADMS Front End Processors (FEPs). Configure SCADA systems, translating operational requirements through VRTU, FIG, ICCP, and ADMS configurations. Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders, such as TSO/DSO leadership, SCADA vendors, contractors, and field personnel, to support technical and business tasks. Resolve complex telecommunication problems across VRTUs, ICCPs, FIGs, FEPs, and wireless mesh networks promptly. Independently manage all facets of SCADA systems while supporting and maintaining existing systems through Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and equipment commissioning. Prepare clear and concise documentation for scalable, robust, and flexible SCADA designs.Technical Requirements:
Preferred Experience :
Experience with OSI Monarch ADMS System and Smart Grid technologies. Familiarity with Field Interface Gateways (FIGs) and Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) in a SCADA environment. Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., DNP3, IEC 61850, Modbus, ICCP). Networking and security knowledge, including TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, and routing for SCADA system connectivity. Experience with relational databases and data historians for SCADA and ADMS integration.Qualifications & Experience:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
